This has been the longest Wednesday ever because we gained an extra 15 hours after switching time zones.
The plan this morning was to fly from Hiroshima to Tokyo, spend the night in Tokyo, and then fly out from there tomorrow. While we were at the Hiroshima Airport, Marty had the idea to see if we could get an earlier flight and just head home today instead of unpacking and packing up again. Especially with a baby, it's sometimes easier to do things in one big swoop. He ended up calling his dad (Marty's dad is a professional when it comes to arranging flights) and by the time we left Hiroshima we were set up for a flight that afternoon. We were both very glad everything worked out with switching flights because the airport turned out to be a zoo, and if we had gone the following day we likely wouldn't have made our flight. We also ran into Kurumi at the airport which was fun!
The flight was long. There was this 3 year old who was screaming for several hours, and at one point there was a dog barking. haha. You'd think that being a parent gives you extra patience for screaming children...which it does. Except when that screaming wakes up your baby. haha. That happened a few times, but Emi honestly did really well. The flight attendants loved her and kept calling her "Emily." I thought it was a bit ironic that the Japanese flight attendants were calling her Emily, because Emi is a Japanese name. But I figure they probably heard me say "Emi" and thought that usually American babies are "Emily" and so just autocorrected her name in their minds to Emily.

The flight attendants gave Emi this cute sticker page. It provided a lot of quality entertaining. |

Headed home! |

See you Japan! |
We made it to LAX and grabbed some Jamba Juice and pretzels and then headed to Salt Lake. Marty's mom picked us up there and when we got back we had to watch some Ted Lasso. We loved our travels but so happy to be back!

*I put the title on this post as Back Home, and then I realized that now our home is technically Denver. But Salt Lake is home home.*
