Kyoto->Hiroshima and Guest Writer
Hey guys! Marty is stepping in here as a "guest writer" for Lizzie's blog. Friday was another travel day for us. Since we were up late the night before at yakiniku, we slept in and so did Emi. We took advantage of our 12 PM checkout time and left the hotel right before. Lugging all of our baggage down to the subway, into the crowded train, and back up to the bullet train is a pretty big task - all while trying to keep Emi happy the whole time. We ended up taking two different bullet trains, the first one Emi was her usual crazy self crawling all over the seats, but in the next one we left her in the stroller and she slept the whole way. The train was super crowded so although Lizzie was able to find a seat I had to stand. It was only about 30 minutes tho so no big deal.
We made it to our hotel right at check in time and were happily surprised to find that our hotel room in Hiroshima is quite a bit bigger than the places we were at previously! Being able to move around without having to look at your feet so you don't accidentally step on some luggage is definitely worth the extra money I've discovered. We also have a king size bed in this room so after we're done cuddling for the night Lizzie and I can go to bed and not think about each other until we wake up!
We took a bit of time to relax at the hotel and then went out to a Japanese baseball game! The Hiroshima carps were playing and we decided to go. We only stayed for two innings since Emi was ready for bed after that but it was really fun to have a night at the ballpark.
When we got back to our hotel, Lizzie and I took turns eating ramen. We both wanted to have a nice meal without playing Emi hot potato. The ramen was better than what you can get in the US but not the best I've had, and it turned out to be pretty sad eating alone. Guess we'll stick with hot potato!
Emi has learned to pull up on things since we've been here. |
