A Lot
What a day!
In the morning we had church. Emi was being a little rambunctious during Sacrament meeting so Marty and I took turns being in the hall with her. After Sacrament, I took Emi with me to Relief Society for second hour. She was being so loud and busy--pulling everything out of my diaper bag and crawling all around the room and making squeals. I tried so hard to entertain her with some help from other people, but it was hard. By the time we reached the end of the meeting I was almost in tears. After getting in the car I shed a couple tears and sent a text to Alex (my SIL). I figured she's been in the same boat before and might be able to help in some way. She let me know I wasn't alone and said just what I needed to hear.
On our drive home we got a text inviting us over for lunch from a family in our ward. We went to our apartment, changed our clothes, and headed back in the direction of the church building and their house. They have two kids--a 6 year old and 2 year old and they also have one on the way. And funny enough, the dad of the family served with Peter on his mission. Such a small world! We had a blast hanging out with them and it was nice for Emi to be in a kid-friendly environment.
Then, we went to our house to meet with the Bishop and one of his counselors. They were so nice and it was fun to chat...but through it all Emi was having a meltdown. (I don't blame her because she had missed nap time earlier!) We were trying to give her everything she wanted just to keep her somewhat happy. This ended in ritz all over the floor and still a grumpy child. haha.
By the time we got home, it was already almost 4--which meant we had been going, going, going for 7 hours. That's a lot for a baby to handle.
While Emi took a nap, Marty and I prepared dinner. It was very peaceful as we cooked while Emi slept. haha. After Emi's nap the Dame's (a couple from our old ward) came over and we ate dinner and played hearts.
