Floors Pt 1

This is a day I've been looking forward to--flooring removal day! We are pulling out almost all the flooring in the house to (hopefully) get rid of the pee smell.

The workers informed me today that there was pee everywhere when they were taking out flooring and they gave me several options of how we could try and get rid of the smell. We had already opted for odor control--the equivalent of kilz--but they made it sound like we might need to take more drastic measures. After lots of phone calls, Marty and I decided that our course of action would be to apply bleach over the floors in the evening, see how the house smells in the morning, and then if it smells okay have them do odor control in the morning and postpone installing anything until Wednesday. Ugh waiting is my least favorite thing ever haha. But I want everything done right before we move in! All this work we're having done on our house is teaching me to be more patient even though I don't love it.

We also have a leak in our fridge... It smelled really gross anyway and was getting old so I wasn't too torn up about it.

After we ate dinner, Marty headed over to the house to start bleach while I stayed with Emi. He has been gone for hours--it's almost 11--and he's just coming home now. And he said there's 3 areas in the house that he hasn't been able to get to yet. This project is no joke! I'm so grateful he was willing to take care of it.

As he's been gone I've been working on Emi's 1st year book. One of my friend's mom (friend's moms? I'm not sure how to say this haha) made her and her siblings books for Christmas each year with highlights from their year. I thought that was such a cute idea but sounded stressful to be making several books around Christmas time...so I took that idea and added my own twist to it. My plan (which could very well change haha) is to make a book for each of our kids for their birthdays each year. That way I can space out when each child's book needs to be done. So far I've been enjoying going through pictures but I'm finding that I want to put every picture I have of Emi in the book which is just not realistic. It's just hard to narrow it down when you have the cutest baby ever!
