Child Care

I have been looking forward to this day for awhile now...having Emi go to the gym daycare so I can workout. The Rec Center requires that children are a year old, but they let her go today because she'll be 1 this week. Before she was born I went to workout classes Monday-Friday and it was such a good outlet for me and was somewhere that I could make friends after moving to a new place!

Well...it was really hard for me to leave Emi in the daycare today. I had so many what-if's running through my head. What if the providers weren't nice? What if they took advantage of her? Does it make me a bad mom to work out when I could be spending that time with my baby? Will she be okay?

But in the end she did great! She enjoyed her snack, the girls watching her were really nice, and I felt much better after getting a workout in.

We came home and Emi got in a quick nap before we headed off to My Gym.

It was one of the girl's in Young Women's birthdays today so I made her a cake. She said she liked red velvet so I whipped up a mini red velvet cake with cream cheese buttercream. I don't get the hype behind red velvet to be honest, but I do love the taste of a good cream cheese buttercream!
This is the perfect size of cake. 4" with 2 layers. It's mini, cute, and is great if you and your family want to celebrate but just one a bite or two of cake.

For family night we went to Coldstone. Emi loved it!
My favorite--Cheesecake and Pecans

*tell me you're a mom without telling me you're a mom*

Because today is 9/11 I just wanted to share this article I read awhile ago that really impacted me.
