Tender Mercy

Just last week I wrote about Karin H. from our ward who ran past our house at the perfect time for me to go running with her and her daughter. This week she walked past our house at the perfect time again. She is an angel!

Emi and I were coming back from running errands and after I pulled into the garage and went to shut it, it wouldn't shut. Because this has been happening lately, I got on the step ladder and was trying to figure everything out when Karin H. comes walking by. She offers to hold Emi for me as I figure everything out, and I tell her not to worry about it because it may be awhile. She says not to worry and holds her for me anyway. A few seconds later, she says that one of my neighbors (who she's met before) actually owns a garage door business, and that she'll walk over with me to his house. We knock on his door and he answers. I tell him the problem and he says he knows what's going on, grabs his tools, and heads on over to our house. He then proceeds not only to fix the problem, but also "tune up" our garage just because. As he finishes up his work, he tells me "to consider this a welcome to the neighborhood gift."

Everything in this situation just had to be timed perfectly. The fact that Karin H. walked past my house right at that moment, the fact that I have a neighbor who knows just how to solve my problem, and the fact that Liu was home right when we knocked on his door.

Sometimes I hope God is there and I hope that he cares about me, but it's tricky for me to recognize his hand directly in my life. However, today I felt like God really does know me and he does care about me. I'm grateful for these little reminders of His love.

On a less serious note some more labels arrived today!

Labels in the laundry room.
