All In
I invited some moms to come over to our house for a potluck lunch after a workout class this morning. Annie, Summer, and I went to the workout class and when we went to pick up our kiddos from the childcare there was a sign that said child care will be closing permanently at the rec center starting December 29th. This was so disappointing to find out, especially because I love getting to use our rec center facilities and I also enjoy having a break where I can just focus on working out! So that has been on my mind all day.
After class the workout crew came over, as well as Jazmin and Porter, and we ate lunch and the kiddos played. It was chaos but in the best way. I love having my home full with little humans.
Emi and I took the rest of the day pretty slow and in the evening we went to pick up some In n Out for dinner. When we had the missionaries over for dinner last time they mentioned how it was a bummer that In n Out was just outside mission boundaries, so we promised them we'd have them over again and eat In n Out. Emi and I picked up the food and brought it back and we all enjoyed a meal together. Honestly, it was a win win. They got In n Out and I didn't have to make dinner! haha.
After the missionaries came, I headed off to Young Women's, and when I returned Marty helped me construct a letter to send to people of influence in our community about the childcare shutting down at Westridge (the only rec center in the HOA that still has childcare!). I also reached out earlier in the day to my workout teacher and she has been such a support! And I started a petition. If I'm being honest, I don't want to head this out. But I realized, if I don't step up to the plate nobody will. And this is really important to me. So I'm all in.
Emi's hair looked a bit like Jimmy Neutron today. haha. |
