Christmas Decor

Started decorating for Christmas today! I usually like to wait until after Thanksgiving, but we've been chilling at home for so long that I decided we might as well just decorate today. Here's some pictures that show what it's like decorating with a toddler (I think we can officially say she's closer to a toddler than a baby now?) in the house.

Voila

Had to return these! They were so cute but delicate decorations and a toddler don't mesh well.

Emi dug a bunch of wax out of this candle.

Emi enjoyed playing with the stem of the pumpkin as we were putting away Halloween decor. This is it wrapped up after the damage.

This frame that I spent awhile looking for last year got broken on the top left and bottom right of the frame after an encounter with our little explorer.

I definitely had moments today where I was really frustrated trying to set up decorations while (somewhat) watching Emi. But I've been listening to this book about motherhood and it's made me realize that despite the frustrating things I also have a lot to be grateful for. I'm so glad I have a tiny human in my house who brings so much joy into my life. Who shows me what's important. I love getting to love her, and I love being loved by her.

  1. Oh trying to balance what you want and what a toddler (yes!) wants is tricky! Isn't it amazing how quickly a hug or a kiss (or a nap) replaces any frustration with pure joy?
