Finally!

Our stairs have been delayed getting done since July with so many reschedules I didn't think this day would ever come. But here we are! Our stairs are done. And they look great. We opted to keep the carpet, but there were some issues on the stairs--previous to today-- that couldn't be fixed with an easy solution. Lucky for us we got a team who did a great job filling in random gaps and solving transition issues...and they even found parts of flooring in the house they thought could be done better and did those too. 

One of the guys noticed the transition looked bad near our fireplace so he changed it to a color that matched better and was less bulky than the previous one.

There used to be big holes between the trim and the stairs (in many places), but they fixed the issues by putting a wood block in between the two. The lighting in this picture makes it look really noticeable, but it looks less obvious in person. I think when we get our stair baseboards done it should look even better.

Because the flooring people were using a large portion of the house Emi and I were locked in rooms most the day haha. Thank goodness for FaceTime with grandma, toilet paper rolls, and snacks to help get us through. 

In the late afternoon we went for a walk with Katye and Easton. They were nice enough to come to us because I wanted to be in the neighborhood so when our flooring guys finished up I could be there to make sure everything was okay. It was good to get out and socialize.

Marty brought home Panda Express for dinner and Emi was being so funny smiling and smirking tonight. She makes our life so fun!

Seeing how excited Emi gets when we light the Christmas tree each night is magical.
