Thanksgiving

In the late morning a few of us headed out to go catch the tail end of the Thanksgiving parade.

Watching the parade in person is a totally different experience than seeing it on TV (but once you see it in person it makes seeing it on TV a lot better!). 2 years ago I went with Marty's parents to go watch part of the parade and thought it was really cool, so I was glad we got to go again. There's just an unmatched energy there.

Our cutie patootie. We bundled her all up because it was pretty chilly, but she enjoyed taking off her boots and hat (repeatedly) on the way to the parade.

Grandma and Grandpa with Emi.

Emi got to sit on grandpa's shoulders to see the parade.

Afterwards we headed to the Central Park Zoo. The scenery was beautiful and the zoo was the perfect size for taking a little one to--it felt like 10 exhibits or so. My favorites were the seals and the penguins.

After the zoo we had some downtime which was nice to relax and watch some football (aka nap time).

Then in the mid-afternoon we headed to Maison Pickle for Thanksgiving. Something I really like about going out to eat on Thanksgiving is getting dressed up a bit. It makes the day feel special.

The food was soooo good. I had multiple rolls and servings of stuffing.

I was looking forward to the pumpkin cheesecake from last time, but this time they had cheesecake in jars and it wasn't quite the same in my opinion. Still delicious though!

Isn't this such a cool restaurant?

Michael's family's on the left hand side of this photo. His parents, Bob and Rhonda, are so kind. We see them fairly often so it's always fun to catch up.

Then we went back to the Shaeffer's place and watched football, relaxed, did a puzzle, and ate chocolate. And ate more food!

Oooohh

Can you tell who the star of the show is?

Emi loves the first page of every book. Usually after that she has more interesting things to do with her time.

Relaxing.

Then we stayed up late chatting. I love Thanksgiving.
