Grateful

This evening we got to pick up Marty from the airport! Feeling grateful to have him back.

On a less exciting note, Emi and I had a scary experience at the grocery store today. I was loading up our grocery bags (we have the reusable kind that fit a lot of food) after our cashier had rung up our food, and Emi was sitting in the child seat in the cart as I loaded the bags into the cart. I didn't realize it, but the handle to one of the bags got caught around Emi's neck, and I was about to set that heavy bag full of food down in the cart, which would've yanked her neck back and been very scary. Luckily, a lady was watching us load our food and ran over and pulled the bag's handle from off Emi's neck. It was so scary. I'm so glad that lady was there and I'm glad everything was okay.

2024. I didn't see you coming at all. This has been the wildest year. Hard, frustrating, discouraging, exciting, and hopeful. It's been a year of growth. At the beginning of the year Marty and I had been hoping to get pregnant for a few months and it wasn't panning out as expected. I figured I'd be pregnant within the first few months of the new year, but nope. God had other plans. I was called as YW President in January (a shock to everyone including me!) and that consumed a lot of my time and energy throughout the year. It's been a rewarding experience.  I started weight training for the first time in my life and discovered that I really loved it. Last December, HR closed their rec center childcare and I was crushed because that meant I could no longer go to their daytime classes. I thought nothing could compare to those classes.  And baby #2 is a... GIRL! Bring on the pink. Marty's not a huge fan of gender reveals...but I thought it'd be fun to do a little something. I ended up bringing pink donuts to YWs and surprising the girls. The girls gave me all the reactions I had hoped for ;)
