The Stage We're In.

One of my favorite things about being a stay at home mom is having a slower pace life where I can leisurely go from one activity to the next (I'm sure this will change in several years...but this is our reality at this stage). After workout classes I usually let Emi walk around and explore for a bit before we head home. Today was one of those days and I love that time.

We took a stop at JoAnn to grab some fabric, and look what I found!

During the afternoon we chatted with my mom, and look what Emi did mid-phone call. She's usually go go go, so this was a bit shocking. haha.

In the evening we had the missionaries over for dinner. They came to our house at 5:30 and had a lesson they needed to be to by 6 so it was a quick turn around. They were happy to have In n Out again and I was happy to pickup dinner.

Before we put Emi down to bed we delivered some more of our neighbor gifts. Marty and I both reminisced about Christmas seasons as a kid when we were sent as messengers to deliver Christmas gifts. Marty said he remembered delivering hundreds of gifts to neighbors over several days. I remember the year we brought a gallon (or half gallon?) of apple juice to each of our neighbors.

After delivering just a few gifts, I can see why the kids of the family are sent as messengers. I'm sure it would be easy for the parents to get caught up talking with people and never finish delivering the gifts...especially if you've got hundreds to hand out;)

But since we're in the stage where we're new to the neighborhood, this has been a great way to get to know our neighbors without it feeling forced.

On a different note: Emi got a package from her Japanese grandma, Takemura San. She's loved eating a bunch of Japanese snacks that came in the package.
