Saint Malo-> Mont Saint Michel-> Paris
Marty and I woke up early and did part of the rampart walk in Saint Malo before driving to Mont Saint Michel. I'm excited to read "All the Light We Cannot See" now that we've been there.
So beautiful. |
If we look tired it's because we are! haha. And a little bit frozen. |
We got to Mont Saint Michel early (as per Courtney and Michael's rec...thank you!) and went straight to the Abbey. It was so cool and there was hardly anyone there! We did the audio/tablet tour and it was very well done. Marty and I both loved Mont Saint Michel.
I learned that the castle in Tangled is designed after this. Kind of cool! |

Do you like this lovely billboard they have right here? haha. |
After visiting Mont Saint Michel, we started heading to the airport (a 4.5 hour drive). Luckily we had "The Hobbit" and "Count of Monte Cristo" audiobooks to keep us entertained.
Everything was going pretty smoothly until we went to return the rental car at the airport. The signs were in French and Google Maps was not being helpful...but we made it!
We hopped on the tram, got our Navigo pass, and made our way to Paris!
We grabbed dinner at a restaurant nearby. Le Hide.
Our hotel is right by the Arc de Triomphe, and seeing it for the first time was amazing. It's so beautiful and I love that life around the arc is busy. There's one big roundabout, and people are just out and about living their lives around this incredible monument full of history. It's fascinating to me.Before bed I needed a crepe. Because...Paris!
