A Great Race

As we headed to the race track this morning, it was foggy and cool. It felt good after the heat yesterday!


By the time the race had started it had warmed up a bit. The race was so exciting to watch especially because we had the whole crew there supporting Nick. All the Shaeffer immediate family, Grandma Nancy and Dimitrios, Diane and Luke, and Jo Ellen and Kelly were there. We cheered and felt the suspense together. The energy was so fun! After an amazing race, Nick finished 6th. You would've thought he'd won the whole thing by the way we all reacted. We all felt proud of Nick and were so happy he had such a good race.





After the race, we went out to lunch in Carmel area. And then out to ice cream at Revival Ice Cream in Monterey.




Happy Mother's Day to us!

We drove from the ice cream shop to the airport. The flight back to Denver went well, and we made it back home. We had such a great weekend! Marty and I both felt like it was easier traveling with Emi this trip. Is she becoming a better traveler or are we getting more used to having a child with us?

2024. I didn't see you coming at all. This has been the wildest year. Hard, frustrating, discouraging, exciting, and hopeful. It's been a year of growth. At the beginning of the year Marty and I had been hoping to get pregnant for a few months and it wasn't panning out as expected. Baby #2

 And baby #2 is a... GIRL! Bring on the pink. Marty's not a huge fan of gender reveals...but I thought it'd be fun to do a little something. I ended up bringing pink donuts to YWs and surprising the girls. The girls gave me all the reactions I had hoped for ;)
