Birthday Preparations

 Emi helped me make her birthday cake today! We are so excited to celebrate our princess this weekend.


Emi opened her birthday present from Takemura San today. The card she's holding sings "Happy Birthday" and she was very excited to listen to it over and over.

In the evening I had a baby shower for my friend, Annie, and then Marty and I stayed up very late finishing Emi's birthday cake...and listening to "Silent Patient." I started the book yesterday, Marty started it today, and I think we'll both finish it by tomorrow. We're hooked!

2024. I didn't see you coming at all. This has been the wildest year. Hard, frustrating, discouraging, exciting, and hopeful. It's been a year of growth. At the beginning of the year Marty and I had been hoping to get pregnant for a few months and it wasn't panning out as expected. I figured I'd be pregnant within the first few months of the new year, but nope. God had other plans. I was called as YW President in January (a shock to everyone including me!) and that consumed a lot of my time and energy throughout the year. Baby #2

 And baby #2 is a... GIRL! Bring on the pink. Marty's not a huge fan of gender reveals...but I thought it'd be fun to do a little something. I ended up bringing pink donuts to YWs and surprising the girls. The girls gave me all the reactions I had hoped for ;)
