Japan!

Today is a monumental day because I finally booked our Japan Hotels! I have been postponing this for awhile because I have been so stressed making sure we get the best hotels in the best locations at a decent price. I've also been trying to figure out an itinerary that I am satisfied with--juggling when we're meeting up with friends, seeing my Japanese mom, going to sites, and visiting old mission spots. I ended up planning our whole schedule around being in Yanai for church. Yanai was my first area as a missionary, and I get a bit emotional just thinking about going to Yanai on a Sunday and seeing all the people I love so much. Even if they don't remember me lol. It really will mean the world to me to be there with Marty and Emi. Seriously every time I think about going on this trip I get so excited! There are just so many people I miss that I can't wait to see again.

My Gym and Misc.

Emi has been struggling to sleep for a month and half now (she tends to sleep in 3 hour chunks). Last night when she woke up for one of her feedings around 2:30 she could not go back to sleep for an hour. It's on nights like those that I dread waking up in the morning with a whole day ahead of me. Luckily, though, today flew by.  Emi and I went to My Gym and she got a cute little My Gym t-shirt now that she's a member. We started going to My Gym because Marty's mom had many fond memories going with her kids when they were little and offered to pay for me and Emi to go. It is seriously such a fun place and they have so many cute activities for the little ones. It's very well run and they do developmentally appropriate activities which I can appreciate from my previous job ;) When we came home from My Gym, Emi was sleeping in her car seat, so I put her car seat next to the couch and laid down. I was just relaxing and closed my eyes for a minute. When I opened my eyes, the

Paul Cardall and Sound of Music

Woke up this morning to Marty bringing a hungry Emi into our room. It was so sweet of him to take her (without me even noticing) so I could keep sleeping. After I fed her we swapped places so Marty could nap and I could watch Emi. Lucky for me, she was pretty tired so we played for a bit and then I put her down. Which meant I had a good chunk of time where I could just relax. I turned on Paul Cardall and read a BYU magazine. It got me in the right headspace for a Sunday. Later, Marty commented how he liked the music playing in the background. We've played his music couple Sundays, but I think we'll have his music playing in the background every week from now on.  Then we had church--Emi was the shining star in our ward as always and headed back home. Marty and I prepped some imitation cafe rio salads for an early dinner and then watched "Sound of Music." I seriously love musicals so much and Sound of Music is a classic. Just for fun.

So I've been thinking about doing a blog recently mainly because I really enjoy reading blogs and I also want a space where I can just write about what's happening in my life in a low-pressure setting.  I have to admit that I've avoided journaling for years now because I always hate reading what I write. My writing never turns out quite like I want it to, and I end up feeling discouraged. So honestly I'm not sure how long this will last but we'll try this out for now.  Here's to trying something new.
