Playdate

Went to Zumba in the morning and then Emi and I had Bowen over for a playdate. It's so cute watching Emi and Bowen interact. I love when Emi watches how Bowen does something and then tries to mimic it. The rest of the day was pretty chill, and then in the evening I got a babysitter so I could go to the Relief Society Christmas party. It was nice to get away for an hour and have some adult interaction.

Cake Decorating

Today I had a workout class in the morning, family history in the afternoon, and cake decorating for young women's in the evening.  Very few girls in our class usually come to activities (I remember not wanting to go to activities as an older girl too), but this one had a great turnout. And everyone who came seemed to have a good time. Yay! Below are pictures of the girls' cakes. They all did a great job!

In the morning, Emi and I went to My Gym. Then the rest of the day consisted of making lots of cake! I made a cake for one of my young women's birthdays today and then prepped 18 more cake rounds for our young women's cake decorating activity tomorrow. I'm beat! Red velvet with cream cheese frosting. This cake didn't turn out how I wanted it to but oh well! Some days are like that. So much cake. Had the sweetest surprise at our doorstep tonight. A beautiful bouquet! Thanks Marty :)

FAO Schwarz

Nick and Chris went home yesterday, Dan went home this morning, Courtney and Michael had work/school today, and so that left me, Marty, Emi, and Angela today. Last time we came to New York I had my eye on FAO Schwarz but the line was long and we were busy doing other things! But this time we were able to go and it was even more exciting because Emi was with us. I was hoping it would feel like Willy Wonka's Factory but toys instead of candy and I would say it lived up to the hype! There were people demo-ing toys and the ambiance was fun. We strolled the store, and before we were about to leave Marty said he wanted to get something for Emi. I thought that was sooo cute. He ended up letting her choose between two things, and I think she chose well! I'm excited for her to get her fake cosmetic bag and nail polish for Christmas.  On our way home we snagged some banana pudding from Magnolia Bakery...yum! Pretty soon it was time for Emi and I to head home. Marty's heading down to

Hamilton

Church in the morning. And Elder Weaver happened to be sitting nearby us. Marty and I both know him pretty well on the mission so it was fun to chat with him and his wife. After church we went back to the apartment for just a bit and then Marty and I were off to Hamilton (Grandma and grandpa watched Emi...again!). I was really excited to get to see it in person! I know the music well and have watched the Disney+ version multiple times.  Marty and I had great seats (thank you, Dan and Angela!) which was cool. I especially liked being close to see all the dancing. I thought the Aaron Burr in our cast was really good. Marty and I both agreed that it's tricky seeing a different cast when our ear is used to the original cast members' voices, but I was so grateful to get to see the production live! Hey Marty! Do you like my beanie? ;) Hamilton with my love. Emi playing while mom and dad were away! By the time we got back from the show, it was time for dinner. Courtney and Angela had

Had the yummiest Acai bowls from Hawa for breakfast. I think we may have to have them everytime now. In the morning we headed to Central Park for family pictures. Emi was really cute for the first bit and then started to freeze and was done. Then we went to The Met. I was hoping to go there this trip so I was glad we got to go. I enjoyed just looking around and seeing some beautiful art. Below are some of my favorites! I love Monet's work. Degas's sculpture of a ballerina.  Marty said this one looked like the Rosen girls working hard. hahah. Marty with the Christmas Tree. Emi in "Vertigo of Color" appreciating Manet. I love the look of these steps up to the entrance of The Met. Then we went to Serendipity. It's the cutest place and I love eating all the desserts and the nachos. Aren't these menus ginormous?! Our table. Not pictured: Dan & Angela and Bob & Rhonda at the other table. The star. Afterwards we headed to ice skating in Central Park at Wollma

Black Friday

This morning we went out to breakfast at French Roast (a 2 minute walk from Dan and Angela's place. I can definitely see the appeal of city life!) I got french toast and it was delicious! Then we went home for just a short time before we were headed to an escape room called "Beat the Bomb." As the name suggests, your goal is to beat the escape room with your team before a (color) bomb explodes. There were a series of 4 rooms before the final room, and how your team performed on the first 4 rooms determined how much time you had on the last room. I would 100% recommend this escape room. It was seriously so fun and different from other escape rooms in that everyone had to work together in each room (Whereas in other escape rooms it's easy for one or two people to do most the work). Meanwhile Emi was hanging out with Aunt Courtney and Uncle Michael. They had been before and were nice enough to watch her so Marty and I could go. Afterwards we grabbed some ice cream, heade
