Rock-a-baby

Image
Emi and I spent our morning at library story time and then My Gym.  Emi doing "Rock-a-baby" before story time. Marty had an earlier softball game and I didn't have YWs today, which meant that Emi and I could go to his game! I'm Chatham's softball team's bad luck charm. Every time I come they lose haha! They've had a great season so far, but today they had bad loss. Marty had a good attitude about it, though, and Emi loved playing on the playground. She made a few friends--one girl close to her age, and then two sisters ages 6 and 10 (?). It was so cute to watch the older girls love on Emi and play so sweetly with her. Kids have the biggest hearts.

ABCs

Emi and I went to the HR library with Summer, Ronny, and Jules in the morning. They were doing an ocean theme for story time  and had some "baby sharks" made out of felt. Emi loved them and talked about them the rest of the day! Afterwards we all walked over to Civic Green to splash around and met up with Andy and her kids.  Another thing that was exciting from today is that Emi started saying the second half of her ABCs from "Q" onward. I love this phase she's in--where her vocabulary's just expanding rapidly! Marty and I are always amazed with what she's able to say.

Zipping

We made it home yesterday! Emi was very excited to have a suitcase to play with today. She loves putting things in the suitcase, zipping it up, grabbing more things, unzipping the suitcase, and then re-zipping it up.

Rosen Pagosa Recap

Image
We had the Rosen family reunion at Pagosa this year!  The crew that came was Mom & Dad, Dave & Steph (Ings and Huck), Bubs, Grandma Furner, and Marty & I (Emi). We got to Pagosa late Wednesday night, and then headed home on Sunday morning. Unfortunately there was a bit of sickness going around, but other than that everyone seemed to have a good time! (In hindsight I also was maybe too up tight because I just wanted everything to go smoothly and also take good care of Pagosa... but you live and learn!) Here is our family reunion by pictures... Waterfall Hike 4 Wheeling around Camp. Ranger ride Mom taking Grandma Furner for a ride on the 4 wheeler. We loved having grandma with us! Cousin bath time. Pinata time! Steph's doing a pinata for her first time. Marty was the one to get the candy out of the pinata. He had a killer swing. Huck and Grandpa. Hiking into the box. Emi and Ings both did some climbing. Rock climbing. Peep Marty at the top! I didn't make it very far..

Summer

In the morning we swam in Grammy and Papa's pool. Emi loved going off the diving board! I love that she's always willing to try new things. I am re-remembering how fun the pool is. Why have I been lame for the past few years and just gravitated to the hot tub? It's so much fun swimming in the pool and jumping off the diving board! After nap time, Emi and I picked up my mom to go shopping for Pagosa. I always loved going grocery shopping at Harmon's with my mom growing up, so this reminded me of the good old days.  Emi and I went back to the Shaeffer's in the evening, and hung outside after dinner. Marty, Emi, Dan, Angela, and I played "duck duck goose" on the tramp and Emi sent a little plastic red boat down Grammy and Papa's river over and over again. Before we went inside to put Emi down for the night, Angela taught me the beginnings of learning a backflip on the tramp. Now I just need to practice a bunch! Summer don't end!

Old Friends

Allyse J. and I went out for lunch together today! It's been so long since we've last seen each other. We both did Dance Co in HS and then roomed together for 2 years at BYU. It's crazy seeing the way our lives are each playing out...I'm glad we were able to catch up!

Spartan and Darwin

Image
Marty ran a Spartan today! He and his crew all killed it. For dinner, we went over to Jackie and Nate's place. Jackie had prepared the yummiest Mediterranean spread and I ate sooo much pita. We also got to meet the newest addition to their family, Darwin! He's such a cute pup with lots of energy. It's always good spending time with family!

Brothers Day

Hello fans of Lizzie’s blog! This is Marty back for another guest post talking all about our boys trip to LA. A few weeks before, my dad had called me and told me that there was a boys day trip brewing. We were already planning on coming out that weekend since I had my spartan race, so we ended up changing our flights to come out one day early so I could make the trip. Turns out there was a global IT outage this weekend and so getting to Utah turned into a fiasco, our flight was delayed nearly 3 hours. Christopher barely made it, he had to take an Uber from Houston to a different airport and get on a flight there after he had already been delayed for hours and hours. Thankfully everyone made it and we were able to pull off the trip! The morning of, we got to sleep in for a bit which was really nice given how late we came in. We went to the airport around 10:30 and got to take a private jet out to LA - Lizzie was only a teensy bit jealous XD. On the way to LA, we somehow got talking abo

Sisters Day

Image
Marty, Nick, Chris, and Dan flew out to LA for the day to get some Korean BBQ and watch the Dodgers play today! While they were gone, I was able to spend the day with my sisters. Angela watched Emi in the morning while I met up with Jackie and Bubs for pedicures. Afterwards, Jackie headed home to walk Darwin and I went with Bubs to go see her apartment. She's done a really good job decorating and making it homey. Then Bubs and I picked up Zupas (a must while in Utah) and headed to the Shaeffer's to swim.  The most unflattering picture hahah We played with Emi for just a bit, ate lunch, and then put her down for a nap. After putting her down, Jackie showed up to swim with me and Bubs. We had such a blast laughing, catching up, and swimming. We took turns jumping off the diving board over and over and Bubs and I learned that Jackie did MAC and actually knows how to dive really well. It was very impressive!  After Jackie and Bubs left, I showered and then Emi and I headed to Mom a

Denver-> SLC

We had a flight to Utah today that coincided with CrowdStrike's computer update that made all of the airline's systems that use CrowdStrike break down...Delta being one of them. Our Delta flight ended up getting delayed 2 hours before we went to the airport, and then another 1 once we got there. But honestly it was actually kind of nice getting to do some extra tidying before going to the airport! And once we were there, Emi enjoyed getting to ride the escalators over and over so it wasn't too bad. We have found the perfect place in the Denver Airport to hang out with a toddler! So much space to run around with hardly anyone there. Emi did really well on the flight until the last bit at which point she melted down. We got off the flight and were walking through the airport with a screaming child flailing in our arms and I felt like everyone was judging us hardcore (although I'm pretty sure that wasn't the case)...but we made it! It was Emi's 50th flight which is
